Structural Engineer
Role & Responsibilities
- Entry-level to Mid-level structural engineering position with the ability to grow within the company
- Primary responsibilities will include structural analysis, drafting and project management for steel connection design projects
- Additional Responsibilities include calculation development, steel shop drawing reviews, submittal preparation, RFI development and new calculation development to enhance efficiencies
- Potential responsibilities could include working on miscellaneous steel design, steel structure design and erection engineering projects, based on the candidate’s level of experience in these areas
- Use of analysis programs such as MathCAD, Excel, Idea Statica and Ram Elements
- Review of 3-D BIM models with Trimble Connect to aid in connection design and shop drawing reviews
- Project management responsibilities will be determined by candidate’s experience level
Requirements & Skills
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Candidate should have either passed the FE exam or the PE exam
- Experience with steel connection design is preferred, experience with steel design or erection engineering are a plus
- Excellent communication skills are required, both verbally and written
- Enthusiasm and desire to succeed and develop technical skills
- Attention to detail, logical problem-solving skills, and strong organizational skills
- Software skills with any of the following are a plus: Revit, MathCAD, Excel, Ram Elements, Idea Statica, BlueBeam or Trimble Connect
- Passion for steel design and growing professional knowledge and skills around steel design and steel fabrication
Project Engineer
Role & Responsibilities
- Primary responsibilities will include structural analysis, drafting and project management
- Additional responsibilities will include engineering submittal preparation, shop drawing reviews and new calculation development
- Projects will consist primarily of steel connection design and steel stair design
- Use of analysis programs such as MathCAD, Excel, Enercalc, RAM Elements & Idea Statica
- Review of 3-D BIM models within Trimble Connect to aid in shop drawing reviews
Requirements & Skills
- Entry-level position with the ability to grow within the company (no experience required)
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Candidate should have either passed the FE exam or the PE exam
- Enthusiasm and desire to succeed and develop technical skills
- Attention to detail, logical problem-solving skills, and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work well with a team and work well alone, depending on the task
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
- Software skills with Revit, MathCAD, Excel and RAM Elements are a plus
- Ability to read construction drawings is a plus
- Strong interest in steel design
